Bozza
Hi guys,Two of us are heading (from the UK) to New York for a 5 night stay from 25th April. We're looking for a decent hotel so 3* or, ideally, 4* in a good location for tourist accessibility.Using sites like Expedia here in the UK, I'm getting prices that come in around Link to comment

thereuare
Are you willing to pay more for a 4* hotel vs. a 3* property? What is your maximum bid for this stay?I'm assuming that MTE, MTW and UM/CPS are acceptable zones... what about MTS?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy to follow. Bozza
I assume MTS is a little bit further away from Times Square etc. We're not afraid of walking - in fact we plan to do a lot whilst in NYC, so MTS would be good if there are enough bars and eateries about.I would be happy to pay more for a 4* property. My maximum would be in the region of $300 a night, all in, which is what I can get rooms for on Expedia et al. thereuare
The first thing i would do is book a cancellable back-up. I'd recommend the Beekman Tower for $240/nite... the hotel gets very good reviews and has a refrigerator and kitchen (which is convenient for a 5 nite stay... storing small snacks and drinks). If the above works for your plans/needs, we can then use that as "the price to beat".At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS and MTS...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTS...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and MTS...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200.Given the price of the back-up above (if that doesn't work for you let us know and we'll explore other alternatives) i think i would stop at $200 for the moment and see how the above goes before continuing on further.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
