TJSF
Hello!I'm looking for some bidding assistance on the Big Island from March 1 - March 5th. (4 nights). I can not change these dates. We have free flights so I'm hoping to book the highest end resort on the Big Island. I think the Hapuna Beach Resort fits that bill??? Is the only other hotel in the Kohala Coast Resort category the Hilton? Hoping not to spend more than $210/nightPlease advise. Thanks,Tara Link to comment
thereuare
Please post follow-ups to your Priceline New Haven and Priceline Los Angeles threads with whatever you ended up doing for each stay. Then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
TJSF
Dear Thereuare - I ended up not going on the East Coast trip and stayed with friends in LA.Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Nobody will know to look here to see that you cancelled plans for your previous thread(s)... please post a follow-up to those threads and then bump this thread accordingly. TJSF
I'm not sure what you mean by "BUMPING" up the thread. I've updated the other threads with no new information other than I didn't utilize Priceline. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Well that gives those threads "closure" rather than leave future users wondering if you ultimately were successful (and didn't follow-up with the results) or if you were not successful, or that your plans changed. All hotels reported to the board would be in the Priceline Hotel List, but be sure to read the comments at the top of the lists. The Hapuna Beach Resort is sold-out for your dates and the Hilton is nearly $300/nite, so not sure if you'll ultimately find success or not with your $210 maximum bid. When bidding Resort on Big Island you have one re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I would begin with:Selecting Resort...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150.If rejected in 24 hours...Selecting Resort...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170.If rejected in 24 hours...Selecting Resort...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185.I would then increase each bid by $5 every 24 hours. This will bring you up to your maximum bid in 5-6 days time. In the meantime i would continue to look for a suitable back-up reservation as it's not impossible, but i'd put the odds at less than 50%.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and keep us updated as to your progress.
