decaff38
I'm looking for a hotel in Duluth , mn for July 27-29th. I looked on Hotwire and found a 2* with the icons -pool and continental breakfast. The ones I've seen on listed for Priceline are : Best Western harborview, Holiday Inn Waterfront and the Fairfield Inn. I'm concerned because I need a waterfront hotel and I know the Fairfield is 5 miles out. There is only one listed. I tried Priceline and bid far too low and need to wait until Sat. to re bid and have no idea what level to bid at. They have a 3* (I would love to get that ) and these listed 2*. Would love any advice. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
How high are you willing to bid for the 3*?I'm going to guess that the Hotwire 2* is the Fairfield Inn. It seems to match pretty good in that fact that they have a pool and offer complimentary breakfast... and it doesn't have amenities that aren't shown (on premises fitness center, restaurant, etc). Other hotels that also offer breakfast either don't have a pool or have many other amenities that aren't listed in the Hotwire search. Of course this a guess and there could be other in the area that match that i'm not familiar with. decaff38
I just went to 55.00 in Duluth for a 3* and was rejected. I have reservations for 99.00 right now. I'll give it another try in 3 days. I'll let you know if I get lucky. Link to comment
decaff38
I am planning a trip the end of March. I have looked at Hotwire and Priceline and search this forum but the info is pretty old. Anybody have any new information. Link to comment
thereuare
See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ regarding the dates of the hotel list (or maybe some people who stayed in Duluth never followed-up their threads with whatever they ended up doing for their stay :) )Can you also provide the information requested in your Four Points Minneapolis thread and there is a whole list of them HERE too! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
decaff38
I just stuck with the regular reservations due to planning this trip for my elderly parents. Did not want to goof it up for them. They had a wonderful trip for their 56 anniversary! Link to comment
decaff38
Sorry, I went back and updated my past posts and requests. Did not use hotwire or pricline for 3 of the four. am so hoping to get a deal this time. Link to comment
thereuare
All hotels reported to the board would be in the Priceline Hotle List or the Hotwire Hotel List. What are the actual date(s) of your stay?Is there anything within your price range on HOTWIRE or were you looking to try to bid on Priceline? If priceline, what is your minimum star rating and maximum bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
decaff38
We will be there March 31 and April 1. I would love to get something in the 45.00 range either 2.5 or 3. Link to comment
thereuare
There is no 2.5* bidding in Duluth so you're basically looking at a 3* property unless you are willing to lower your star quality or choose another nearby zone. When bididng 3* in Duluth you have one re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Duluth...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $40.If rejected post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
