Priceline Hotel: 4* West of Strip Las Vegas

All reported hotels will be in our Priceline Hotel List, but be sure to read the comments at the top of the list... no list should ever be considered complete as it only includes hotels reported to the board, there could always be others and new hotels are added all the time. Near the Rio is the Palms, and although it has not yet been reported, i would considered that at least a 4* hotel.

What appears to be the Rio seems to be offered on HOTWIRE.

For "when to bid" see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

This is not typically a prefered zone of the average visitor, is there a reason or need for you to stay here?

One problem you may have as well is that many hotels in Vegas don't allow Saturday check-in, so you may be somewhat limited.

We just plan on hanging out there Saturday night (5/5)and want to stay there, but it may be getting higher than we want. I'm up to $165 on Priceline w/no luck. I hesitate to do a 4* strip bid as I don't want the Luxor or MGM. I plan on booking direct with the Monte Carlo for 5/7 and 5/8 at $109 and $129. (I will use the links on this site). I would welcome any suggestions/advice. I'm reading posts on figuring out what hotels are what on Hotwire also. Thanks for all your help.

If you like the Monte Carlo offer i would book it ASAP... rates in Vegas change fast!! If you book and rates go down you can always call them for the lower rate (essentially cancelling and re-booking)... if they go up you can't tell them "i was going to..." Booking now protects you if rates go up, but still leaves you able to take advantage of any rate drops since booking at their website are cancellable.

As far as 5/5, i think you're going to have to "give" someplace... either in your preference for the Rio or in your maximum price. You can book the Orleans Casino for $120/nite and it is close to the Rio although you probably still need an inexpensive cab ride there... although i'd still recommend trying to stay on the strip and just taking a cab to the Rio.

If you haven't booked yet, here are some transportation options that may help you get to the Rio from the Strip. Excerpted from:

Monorail:

A favorite way to travel because it is up in the air! The monorail is open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. - 2 am (3 am Friday - Sunday). It travels from the MGM Grand to Sahara Ave and can hold 72 seated riders and 152 standing riders. You can purchase tickets at some major hotels on the strip or even on the Monorail
