Hi, I need to get a room for that one night in Orlando in the Universal area. Should I wait until closer to the date of travel or doesn't it matter? I've tried a couple of low-ball bids already ($31, $34) and both were rejected. It's looking like I'll have to spend somewhere in the $40s to get that room though.

It's very difficult to get a hotel in that zone on the 24th because of 2 big conventions filling the hotels in the area. The Florida Educational Technology Conference (expecting 14,000) and PGA Market (expecting 43,000) will be there then. I've even read that the WDW zone is filling up too, but I think most attendees stay on International. I think you would have more success by staying in another zone (ie-airport,) changing your date, or finding a room now and paying the normal rate before all are full.
