Jer Posted August 8, 2006 Report Share Posted August 8, 2006 Tried 2.5* in Markham for $31 - no luck.Added Vaughn - North York, 2* and bumped bid to $38 (poor strategy but I'm in a hurry - trip starts in two days) and got the Comfort Inn in North York - great location for me (I'm approaching from the North) and it has complementary breakfast and wireless internet.$18.59 in fees means two night stay totals $US 94.59 - hotel rate is $130 per night before taxes! Jer Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 Hmmmm ..... never got a detailed bill before .... on checkout I got a printout from the hotel - the bill was paid by a MasterCard from Norwalk Connecticut (I guess that's where Priceline is based).The price paid (in Canadian dollars) was $39.00 per night plus provincial/federal taxes of $4.29 and a local lodging tax of $1.17 per night. After conversion that works out to $US 39.43 per night ( vs the $US 47.30 charged by PL based on the 2 night stay).Jer Link to comment
