MissChele
I would like to rent a car to drive from Louisville to Chicago (and back) June 11-15. I have not used any of the bidding services so I wouldlike some suggestions. I also have the Entertainment Book if that helps...MissChele Link to comment
thereuare
I'd first call some of the major car rental companies (especially the ones that Priceline/Hotwire work with) and see if this trip would be allowable under their 'unlimited milage' programs. Most have a clause that you can't drive the car out of the 'general vicinity' and this may not be a permissable (read: legal) trip without a hefty milage surcharge. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
szymon
Do you live in the Louisville area? If you do you can avoid the airport charges/fees by picking up in-town. Can you pick up any earlier than on the 11th? Reason I ask is that the rental car companies charge a lot more if you don't have a Saturday night stay.Example from Louisville airport:Hertz midsize 6/11 - 6/15 = $280 with taxes/feesHertz midsize 6/10 - 6/15 = $220 with taxes/fees after $20 Entertainment Book couponLooks like the local Hertz office doesn't require the Saturday night stay...Locally from Hertz Local Edition:Hertz midsize 6/10 - 6/15 = $176 with taxes/fees after $20 Entertainment Book couponHertz midsize 6/11 - 6/15 = $162 with taxes/feesHertz will give you true unlimited mileage so no worries about drive to Chicago.Szymon Link to comment
MissChele
Yes, we are in Louisville. The dates have changes a bit (June 12-15), so we don't need Sunday. I'll look into that Hertz deal. We have a Hertz office right here by the office in Plainview.MissChele/KY Link to comment
