thereuare
As per the Hotwire Hotel List this is a match for the Stratosphere so that would be our best guess.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. mak136
Hi, sorry for not following up sooner. I still haven't booked a room. Finally got our show tickets. The Stratosphere does not thrill me, and I'd rather not there. Too far down the strip. I'll let you know how I proceed. Link to comment
mak136
I'm probably going to split up the 4 nights, 2 nite (Fri/Sat), 2 nite (Mon/Tues) . Hotwire offers a 4-star hotel in Downtown with Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Business Center and "Best Value" for $79 for Fri/Sat request. Any idea? And then in a 3-star hotel in North Strip, offering Resort, Casino, Rest, Pool, Health, Spa, Golf, Laundry for $35 "best value" for Sun&Mon nites. Any idea? Suggestions? It's our first time to Vegas...am I being too chintzy? We've bought tix for 2 Cirque shows and are heading to the Grand Canyon after Vegas. Thanks!Marc Link to comment
mak136
Hotwire offers this hotel for 7/28-30 (Fri-Sun) ... 3-star hotel in Downtown Las Vegas with Casino, Pool, Restaurant and "Best Value".Any ideas which one it is? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
It's our first time to Vegas...am I being too chintzy? Do you really want to stay downtown for your first trip to Vegas? mak136
As for a Fri and Sat nite, I don't want to spend over $100 a night. Sun and Mon we will probably end up at Hard Rock Hotel, but for Fri/Sat we are trying to be conservative based on prices. Sure I'd love the Venetian at $100..but that's not going to happen. We currently have rooms at Casino Royale only because of the location, which I believe is mid strip right next to The Venetian. Nothing glamorous, no casino..etc. But we figure we are getting in at midnight Fri nite, so how much time are we spending "at" the hotel. Then Saturday roaming about during the day, then "O" show at night, and whatever after that..then back to the hotel. Sun/Mon we'll switch to a good deal somewhere. Are you implying that "downtown" vegas is really that bad? As opposed to staying at this Casino Royale, which I'm not expecting very much out of? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
I'd possibly stay downtown if all were applicable:-it wasn't my first trip to Vegas-i'd be staying at the Golden Nugget (which is available for your nites for $81/nite)In Vegas i would sooner choose then location of the Casino Royale (which does have a casino, afaik) vs. a 3* downtown hotel. mak136
Thanks "thereyouare" .... it sounds like you're really against downtown for accomodations. Casino Royale sounds like it might be it. At the other end of the spectrum I'd like your thoughts...Casino Royale vs Stratosphere/Sahara?For Sun/Mon it seems we're headed to Hard Rock, cuz my friend wants to hang at the pool on Sunday for a spell...and i guess they have a good scene on Sunday. He also wants to maybe stay at Hooter's. I know this is off topic for Hotwire...because they're not listed. Any thoughts on these places? It's not that we're the bachelors on the prowl or anything (being that Hooter's is a choice..i guess the pics look decent, not cuz of the girls believe me). Link to comment
thereuare
It's not that we're the bachelors on the prowl or anything...Sound like your friend might be! :)When in Vegas i prefer to stay on the strip and recommend first time visitors do the same.I do advocate going downtown, but i wouldn't stay their on a first visit or on a short stay. thereuare
Just found the Imperial Palace for $99/nite thru Quickbook and that is probably where i would stay at the sub-$100 level. mak136
Thanks for the tidbit...i think we'll stick with the subpar Casino Royale for $75 based on how much time we'll really be in the place. Hope it's not toooo depressing! Now it's on to the Sun/Mon portion. First Hard Rock, then Hooters, and now friend mentions Paris. man oh man... and we still have yet to figure out Canyon/Sedona nights. Link to comment
