Priceline Hotel: Looking for Boston, Weds. May 10th - 2 rooms needed

By foxadam,

Recommended Posts

- want to be close to some cool bars / pubs

- must be on Wed. May 10th

- looking to spend under $170 per room

- need two rooms at same hotel

- onsite / local parking would be needed

Looks like Boston is pretty pricey and has a lot of 4* zones (looks like only Brighton and Medford are good for rebids).

Any suggestions on a bidding strategy? Zones to stay away from knowing that we want to go out that night? We have to be in Norwood the next day for business but would like one night 'IN the city'.

Thanks,

Adam

I don't know Boston well enough to say which zone(s) would be best for your individual needs, but most usually bid the Copley and the Downtown/Charlestown zones.

If you know where you want to go in Boston you can use our Priceline Boston Map to see which hotels are near where you want to be and then look which hotels are near those places.

I'm sure thenewbie or somebody else who knows the area will chime in once they see this thread.

Once you confirm the zones you're willing to bid we'll be able to outline a strategy for your to follow.

Looking at availability, 4* hotels seem to be sold out for your date.

Would you consider the 3* Holiday Inn Select from EasyClickTravel (I believe they call it a 3.5*) for $161 plus taxes? It's walkable to the Faneuil Hall/ Quincy Market area (with restaurants & bars).

I'll provide a strategy for Priceline shortly... I have a few things to check before suggesting a strategy.

Boston has 3 areas which do not have 4* hotels. These are your rebid areas. If you have any questions on how to find them read priceline re-bidding explained, or ask us before bidding.

Select 4* Downtown-Charlestown...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Copley...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downtown-Charlestown and Copley...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $150.

If this doesn't work, come back and we can give the 3* level a shot.

Thenewbie - thanks very much for your strategy - however no luck.

Followed it to plan and it was rejected. Can I assume a 3* strategy would be identical (although lower costs)?

The rebid zones (Brighton, Medford and South Boston) are all 1* - 2.5*'s.

Thanks!

a.

Hotwire currently has a 3* QM/FD for $121/night. Working with that in mind, give the following a try:

Select 3* Downtown-Charlestown...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Copley...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Downtown-Charlestown and Copley...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone 1...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone 2...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone 3...

Bid $110.
