grnwayrob Posted April 28, 2006 Report Share Posted April 28, 2006 Going to DC for the Memorial Day weekend holiday, figured I'd start bidding now before things get tight. Started with a 2 1/2* bid for White House zone at $52 thinking I might get the Residence Inn again, since their rates for that weekend are only $149, but was rejected. Started over with a completely new bid for White House at the 4* level at $72, was again rejected, but was offered a room if I would increase my bid by $22. Knew I must be close to something, so added Foggy Bottom area and upped bid to $76 and was awarded the Capital Hilton at 16th and K Streets. Happy with the hotel, though would have been nice to get the Sofitel! Link to comment
