I'm going to a convention tomorrow and I really waited too long to bid for a hotel in this area. Now many of the convention area hotels are sold out. Here was my strategy:

1. Universal/Sea World zone, 3*, $40 Rejected

2. Add Sand Lake (free rebid), $45 Rejected

3. Add West Disney (free rebid), $50 Rejected

4. Add Winter Garden (free rebid), $55 Rejected

5. Drop to 2 1/2*, $35 Rejected

6. Add Winter Park (free rebid), $45 Accepted

I'm disappointed in this hotel as most of the reviews have been poor, but I'm desperate and had to have a cheap place to sleep. It's only one night, so maybe the bed bugs won't have a chance to get too friendly. In retrospect, I should have paid more and tried for the Peabody.
