vsk101
I am traveling with a friend and know that Hotwire doesn't guarantee 2 separate beds. However, I'm wondering if I say I am traveling with 3 adults if that will work? I'm guessing that would provide 2 double or queen beds plus a cot or the couch. I am going to Vegas if that matters. Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
If you are traveling with a friend, I would suggest searching for 2 adults and 2 children. Searching for 2 adults and 2 children is less likely (still may, but less likely) to result in higher costs when searching for more than double occupancy than searching for 3 adults. Searching for 2a/2c should ensure some sort of bedding for the entire party - whether it be 2 beds or 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed. Please post the details of the stay (desired star rating, zone, budget per night and dates of travel) and we would be happy to help. Definitely use the $30 off HOTWIRE promotional link in my signature, as well. vsk101
Thank you very much, Aaron. If I end up booking I will post the outcome Link to comment
vsk101
I ended up calling hotwire. They said if I end use 3 adults or even 4, I still might up with 1 bed and 1 sofa. Oh well. They were very easy to reach by phone though. Link to comment
AaronJB
Some listings do offer bed choice on HOTWIRE (although this is more frequently seen on PRICELINE EXPRESS.) Are you seeing any listings that offer 2 beds as a bed choice on PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE? Let us know dates of travel/desired budget and we can also help research. thereuare
There are usually a few ways around this... what exactly is it that you do want and what is your desired star rating, zone, budget (room rate per nite before fees/taxes), and your dates of stay? vsk101
I'm looking at a 5 star hotel in Vegas (north strip - fashion mall but not Trump Int'l or center strip - fountains). Dates at 6/22-6/24. I'm looking for a standard room with 2 double or 2 queen beds. I'm not sure about budget but maybe $150-160 per night. I'm wondering if I just wait if the prices will come down on priceline. Thanks for your help. Link to comment

You're not really looking for a 'standard' room as most Las Vegas hotels, especially those at the higher star levels, now consider rooms with two beds to be an upgrade from standard, and cost more no matter how you book. 6 hours ago, vsk101 said: I'm not sure about budget but maybe $150-160 per night. I'm wondering if I just wait if the prices will come down on priceline. If your budget is $150-$160 then you have no other choice than to hope that prices come down as the only 5* non-Trump hotel in this zone is: 5* The Strip - Northeast (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $158/nite with: Free Parking Fitness Center Casino Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Indoor or Outdoor Pool ==> best guess for this one is the Palazzo but the $158/nite price is for a room with one King Bed... if you wanted a room with 2 Queen beds the price is $216/nite (which is consistent with my comments above) On HOTWIRE you can also get what i believe to be the Palazzo for $160/nite which guarantees a room with one King + a sofabed (the sofabeds at the Venetian/Palazzo are actually very good, not a typical thin mattress where you can feel all of the springs underneath and it creeks every time you rolloever in the middle of the nite)... a room with 2 Queens can be booked for a more reasonable $185/nite (again, consistent with my comments above of rooms with 2 beds costing more regardless of how you book) If you do book the 2 Queen room for $185/nite the total does push over $400 which makes you eligible for the current $30 off Hotwire Coupon... or if you choose to wait you can use our RateDrop service to help you monitor prices for 5 star hotels in this zone (or any star rating/zone combination that you desire) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. vsk101
Thank you. I have a deal at Bellagio for 2 queen beds that works out to $195/night plus has some extras thrown in, which is how I got to $150-160. Palazzio does sound interesting as well. I may stay an extra night now so will have to run the search again with it in there. Link to comment
vsk101
I ended up booking at Bellagio direct on their website. The price with 2 queen beds was $185/night and there are 2 brunch/lunch buffets per day included. Just closing the loop. Link to comment
