I was hoping for the Kimpton Monaco, but this is a well regarded hotel, too.

While not your first choice of hotel in the zone, glad to see you're still pleased with the outcome and this will work out ok for your stay.  Feel free to ask the board for help before your purchase as we can try to confirm/negate what is it that you think you may be about to purchase.

Good point re amenities. I ran the same dates through PRICELINE again. What looks to be the same place (same ratings, same # of verified reviews) is now $133/night. The pre-purchase amenities were as I remembered them: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Non Smoking, Restaurant, Swimming Pool. Actually, I should have expected the Renaissance, as the current BB listing for the Monaco doesn't include a pool. No problem, though -- the Renaissance is an excellent hotel.
