dawnmgreen
thank you so much! I'm going to look up more info on these 2 hotels. Do you have an opinion of either of them? location wise etc... Link to comment
AaronJB
The Whitehall is an older/independent property that gets some mixed reviews, but has a fantastic location just off the center of Michigan Ave. The Doubletree is - I think - a nicer property (and free D'tree cookies.) It's in a nice area closer to the river. Still an easy walk to Michigan Ave and there's a gorgeous newer Whole Foods on the opposite corner, as well as a number of restaurants nearby. Also an easy walk to the lake. Let us know if you have any city questions. dawnmgreen
i was leaning toward whitehall but neither were my first choice lol. Just to get an idea of distance...how long of a walk would it be from whitehall to the doubletree? Link to comment
AaronJB
I could probably do it in 15 minutes (the walk between the Doubletree and Whitehall.) I'm also seeing when I search for 6/22-26 for 2a/2c: 3* River North for $161.00 Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Restaurant Laundry Hi-Speed Internet ==> Possibly the Freehand 3* Loop - Millennium Park for $163.00 Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Business Hi-Speed Internet Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking ==> La Quinta Loop. Not a good location - not convenient from a tourist perspective and there's little going on around this property later at night/on weekends. However: breakfast, mostly good reviews and near "L" stations. 4.5* River North for $201.00 Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet Spa ==> Godfrey would be my guess. Unfortunately, rates are similar across the board for this period, so splitting the stay wouldn't provide any benefit. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. AaronJB
Also seeing today when searching for 6/22-26 2a/2c a more reasonable option - 3* River North for $131.00 Free Internet Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Golf ==> Best Western River North would be my guess, with the Hilton Garden Inn being a less likely possibility. AaronJB
Congrats on your success. Very nice win for this superbly located property right off Michigan Ave. I'll recommend Hendrickx (https://www.yelp.com/biz/hendrickx-belgian-bread-crafter-chicago), which is about a block and a half away. Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
