FirstTimer44141
I am looking to do a name your own price on a 5 star vegas hotel on the strip - Central West. The express deal for the weekend we want is $248. We are looking at 5/19-5/22. it seems to be a busy weekend so most hotels are climbing in price. Still a bit rich for me so I want to try to name my own price. Here are a few of my assumptions: Based on hotel lists, the only 5 start resorts with casino in Central west are Cosmo and Bellagio. Ive read sometimes Aria but not conclusive. I have about 12 rebids I can see since there are about 12 other vegas areas without a 5 star hotel, so I can add each one and rebid. I see many people getting this hotel for 111-141. But none are weekends, or for the week I am going. My questions are "what is a good starting bid and realistic approved bid?" Is Aria considered part of priceline's 5 star central west casino resorts? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. The lists provide what has been reported to the board. New hotels are reported often, as well as star rating and zone changes. Rates are also very specific to the dates of travel and unfortunately, rates do look expensive for these dates. What would be your desired max bid? FirstTimer44141
For a 5 star central west, i would max out my bid at $180. If I didnt succeed, I'd re-bid the Central East 4 star hotels and start at 70, going up to 130. Link to comment
thereuare
A few quick questions since at current rates i'm doubtful that you will be successful for a 5* hotel in the Central West zone... Is there a reason you believe this is the only zone that is acceptable to you for this stay and have you ever been to Vegas before? Also, if this is the only acceptable zone, is there a reason you're dropping from the 5* level down to the 4* level without first trying at the 4.5* level? FirstTimer44141
Good questions. I am not opposed to the Central East region. I like that Central area, and based on the hotels you have listed in the thread at 4 and above in those two regions, I'd be happy with any of them...Cosmo, Bellagio, ceasars, PH, Paris, or Cromwell. I would probably start my bidding in Central West at 5 stars, then add Central east 5 stars. Then go to 4 stars across those two. On the NYOP page, I didn't see that I could do 4.5 and above, just 4 or 5. there is a 4.5 express deal in Central west which I assume is Ceasars, but that costs even more at 297, than the 249 deal for a 5 star for my dates of 5/19-5/22. I just got back from the Cosmo earlier this week. I am going to be in Vegas a few more times in the coming weeks, and I just booked Palazzo for April 2-5 with the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal at $163. I attempted to get it through NYOP, but was unsuccessful even at $155. I started at 110 and kept incrementing and adding regions until I hit $155 and was still unsuccessful. i just gave up and bought the express for $8 more. This is telling me that the NYOP acceptable offers are pretty close to the Express Deals price...or at least it was in my instance. Are you guys seeing this too? So if the epxress deal for the 5 start Central west is $249, I am guessing that's going to be my price if I want Cosmo or Bellagio. Link to comment

If you're fine with this same area for your 5/19-5/22 trip i'm seeing the following (confirm your dates on the landing page of the provided link): 5* The Strip - Northeast for $208 Restaurant Airport Shuttle Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this one would be the Palazzo (or a secondary guess of the Venetian) which when using the exclusive BB discount will bring this to under $200/nite, which i think is a better deal than spending $250 on the Bellagio/Cosmo.. but it's your stay so you know best what will work for your needs and budget. Based upon the price of the offer linked above, let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. FirstTimer44141
Done! Added my Palazzo win for APril. I picked that one since I need to be at the Wynn for a conference. Thanks for the advice. I am going to grab the Venetian for the personal stay in May. There are two different $209 express deals. One lists a couple of room choices resembling the Palazzo, and the other has a number of room choices for Venetian. so it looks like both are available for ~$200 Link to comment

FirstTimer44141
The Express deal that ended up as being Venetian was Rated at 8+ Very Good. Before I purchased, there were two 5* hotels listed, both at $209. SInce I also booked the Palazzo recently for work, one of the two listings said, "HINT: you've booked here before." And the room options all sounded like Palazzo rooms. The other for $209 had rooms that sounded like the Venetian named rooms. Amenities included: Restaurant Airport Shuttle Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities picked the Venetian for this deal since it's a little closer to the other cheaper casinos, bars and restaurants we like to go to.
