thereuare
Please start by further following-up your previous Hotwire Las Vegas and Chicago hotwire hotels thread with the details of each purchase (see our replies to each in regards to the information that is needed) so each of those wins can appear in Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and so that the topic titles will reflect what was ultimately done which will help others when they are doing research for their own trips. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your results/decisions as you receive them so that the information can best help others in a timely manner. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. ... then reply here and we will have a look at and comment on your trip above. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
sll0037
I reported both wins. Sorry I didn't realize it entailed more than a reply. Link to comment

sll0037
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it! Hotwire indicated the last person to book the following received Nobu. $114 Center Strip - Fountains ==> no guess What are the odds I could get Aria, Cosmo, Bellagio, Nobu, Vdara, Venetian/Palazzo any cheaper? Could I successfully use Priceline bidding to drive the price down lower without ending up at a poor 5* off the strip? The Linq is my "budget choice" at $50/night, but given the rates I'm really tempted to go for a 5*. Link to comment
AaronJB
The Vdara is mentioned above as a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and the current link in my signature gives you an additional discount. If you bid you could possibly get something a little bit lower, but you have to be willing to accept any potential hotel at the 5* level in the zone/s picked. sll0037
I've been monitoring both Priceline Express Deals and Hotwire deals over the past few days and prices seem to be fluctuating. I'm strongly leaning toward Vdara, Aria, Cosmo, and Nobu, though I wouldn't be mad if I got Bellagio. I have a few questions. Does anyone know what the demand looks like for my stay? What's the difference for Vdara compared to Jet Luxury Vdara? What's the likelihood I get Four Seasons in The Strip - Southwest if I bid below what looks to be the current offer of $84/night for what appears to be Vdara via Priceline Express. I noticed someone recently got Cosmo for $80 so I'm wondering the likelihood of getting a similar deal for my stay. Link to comment
AaronJB
Jet Luxury is a separate service that rents out privately owned rooms. It has gotten very mixed reviews. You have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating in the zone picked when bidding. There is no way to increase the odds/know the odds of a particular property appearing. $80 is unfortunately not realistic for the Cosmo for these dates, and if there is anything going on, you could easily see deals go up in price or go away entirely while you wait. Prices do not always go down closer to the dates - if anything, in the years since 2008 as demand has ramped, prices have more often been seen trending higher. Prices will definitely fluctuate from day-to-day (and sometimes throughout the day.) Let us know when you are set to book, as inventory can also change from day-to-day. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. sll0037
Thanks for the info... I'm going to book tonight. Can you help me ID the current 5* offerings for Priceline Express and Hotwire Hot Rate deals? I'm only interested South of Nobu, but no further than the MGM. Link to comment

The "Last person got ___" information show by HOTWIRE is in reference to the last person who booked a hotel in the zone of that star rating, not necessarily in relation to the underlying hotel currently being offered. 10 hours ago, sll0037 said: Can you help me ID the current 5* offerings for Priceline Express and Hotwire Hot Rate deals? We already did this once above, if you are ready to purchase now, let us know your preferred hotels (in rank order) and your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees) and will have a look if any of the properties you're looking for is being offered within your budget.
