cadylac
Hello everyone, Just looking for someone's help with New York City. We are going on our late honeymoon and are spending 3 nights in New York prior to heading to Europe. We are hoping to stay in Times Square but have come to realize that I might have to go out of Times Square to get a 4 star or better hotel for a $200/bid or less. Any suggestions what other zones we should try and are nice. I have never been to NYC so any help is very much appreciated. Looking at: Midtown West Midtown east Rockefeller Centre. thereuare
You will likely spend far less time in Times Square than you think, more important to be near subway stations (ideally as many different lines as possible), but it's your trip and you know your needs best, so we will move forward with whatever plan you would like. However, my suggestion would be to stretch your budget another $7/nite for the following: 5* Chelsea hotel for $207/nite with: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess for this property would be the Kimpton Hotel Eventi which generally gets great reviews and is well located near a variety of subway stations... the start of Times Square is an easy 10 block walk (10 minutes if you walk like a NYer) If you instead would like to bid for a 4* or better hotel in the TS, MTE, MTW, or Rock Center zones i think you're likely looking at the $165-$190 range to be successful. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts as to how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take the 5* Chelsea PRICELINE EXPRESS offer above) and we'll advise accordingly. Weird how it doesn't show up anywhere else on Priceline but on my bid..lol. Thanks for your help.. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success... hope you're pleased with the deal you received. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Thank you for sharing your win with the board (this property has been reported to the board previously and is in the Priceline Hotel List so should have been considered a possible outcome for this trip) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
