I wanted a 4* in Times Square, so I checked other free bid zones (there are 10). I started out at $75 and increased bid usually by $5 increments. On my last free bid, I bid $112 and it was accepted for Novotel. After taxes and fees, total is $144.85. No idea what the hotel is like and is on the north end of Times Square (52nd st.), but that just means I'm a little closer to the Carnegie Deli. This hotel is in a very good location, and although i can't comment on the food, their hotel restaurant/cafe has an excellent view of Times Square.
