thepaulse
Hi! I'm attempting to get a nice hotel in Orange County - my preferred zone would be Dana Point, Laguna Beach or Newport Beach. Looking for May 10-14th. Any assistance on bidding on priceline would be greatly appreciated :) Link to comment
AaronJB
So we don't suggest a strategy that is more than you're willing to pay, please confirm your desired max bid per night and desired star rating, and we will offer some suggestions. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thepaulse
Thanks! I'm hoping to find under $200 per night, with a 4* rating. I just realized I DONT want Newport Beach area, as that includes the airport, and I'm not wanting the fairmont newport beach. Link to comment
thereuare
We can start with your two preferred zones, see how that goes, and if rejected then look at alternative zones... When bidding 4* in the Orange County area you have TWELVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* Dana Point... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone... thepaulse
Thanks! We ended up digging through Hotwire first and found this hotel, that seems to be the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach - would you agree? 4.5* - $168 p/n Amenities: Business center, Fitness center, Near beach, Oceanfront hotel, Pool(s), Resort Restaurant(s) and a resort fee of $29 USD per night. 95% positive reviews We're currently debating between that hotel at this price or the listed 4* for $153 Amenities for this one are listed as Boutique hotel, Business center, Fitness center, Internet access, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms Having trouble identifying this one though. I'm guessing the Shorebreak, with the possibility of it being the Waterfront. Any thoughts? Thanks as always! Link to comment
thereuare
For the HOTWIRE hotels I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (including any accessible amenities) then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 4.5 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Internet Resort Near Beach Oceanfront Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Childrens Activities ... if this is what you're seeing, i'd agree that the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa would be a likely outcome For the 4* i'm seeing the following: Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower --> best guess here would be The Shorebreak Hotel If you are interested in The Shorebreak i believe it is this 4* Huntington Beach hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) which would be a little cheaper on an all-in basis. (amenities of Business, Restaurant) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thepaulse
Thanks for all the advice - went ahead and booked on HOTWIRE using your link and sure enough - it was the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel. A good score in my book :) Paid $153 p/n. Link to comment
