Priceline Hotel: 3* Florida Keys (Marathon) Hyatt Place Marathon Florida Keys

I am thankful for you site to help provide guidance in the bidding process on Priceline.  I've read through most of the forums and if I forgot to include something please let me know and I will amend.  I have used priceline in the past and do understand the free rebidding.

 

Looking for a 4* hotel in Key West.  I'm not sure that it really matters which area, though something that is a little quieter is preferred.  There will be two of us for a single night, 3/8/16.  We are looking to spend up to $300 but if need be can stretch a little on that for the right deal.  I'm looking for a highly rated hotel. 

 

I have looked on Priceline and found the following express deals:

$356 - Parrot Key Hotel and Resort (Lowest 4* price)

 

Hotwire Hot Rate had the following:

$331 - 4* Key West Downtown (Free Internet, Fitness center, Pool(s), Spa services, Wheelchair accessible) 100% Recommended

$271 - 4* Key West Downtown (Resort, Pet friendly, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access) 70% Recommended

 

Hotwire Hotels had the following:

$419 - Parrot Key Hotel & Resort

$369 - Gates Hotel Key West

 

I could use your help with bidding assistance and would also be interested to in the hotwire hot rate hotels too if you have some thoughts.

You don't have any interest in the non-Key West zones that appear in this region when searching for 'Key West' (ie- Duck Key, Islamorada, Key Largo, Marathon)?

 

Also, for the HOTWIRE offers I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool.

Thank you for the reply.  To answer your questions, we would like to stay in Key West to see that area (either location really as I don't know the difference).  We will be staying in Duck Key on the 9th and 10th.  I'm not against staying elsewhere as it will all be new but my uneducated preference is Key West.

Thank you for your assistance.  I used the PRICELINE links provided and tried the following bids.  I started with $250 (rejected), went to $260 on first rebid (rejected), went to $265 and was rejected again.  

 

I was bumping up against the $271 number so I didn't bid anymore.  I think I will look at some 3.5 star hotels before going forward with the Casa Marina hotel on HOTWIRE.  I am intrigued by the other one as it has 100% recommendation, but will look into the others first.   I may need some help interpreting what's out there.

I checked back today and the rate appears to be $277 today in lieu of $271.  However, I noticed a $15 off for HOTWIRE Hot Rate Hotels so that is positive.

 

I did want to ask your thoughts on a few other hotels too from HOTWIRE.  I tried to pull over the recommendations if there were any.  Not sure about the last one though.  :

I don't have enough insight for any of the above to take a guess that i'm comfortable with, but i am seeing what i believe to be the following should any of these be of interest:

The Gates Hotel Key West for $323/nite

Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort for $350/nite

Crowne Plaza Hotel Key West La Concha for $321/nite

 

Courtyard By Marriott Marathon Florida Keys for $276/ntie

I still haven't settled and have been monitoring the different options. I think I'm down to two now and am looking at Marathon because it seems a bit more economical and I'm sure I'll be just as pleased.

 

$291 - 4* Marathon Area Condo (FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Resort, Beachfront hotel, Studio, Smoke-free rooms, Air conditioning, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, 24-hour front desk, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Kitchenette) - (65% and 4.5 on Tripadvisor) My Guess on this One is Tranquility Bay.  And it looks like it was $331 before!

 

$236 - 3* Marathon All Suite Hotel (FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet,  Internet access) (100%) My guess here is Hyatt House in Marathon.

 

I realize these may not be on your list and perhaps I am off base.  I'd welcome your input and will let you how we make out.

I don't have a guess for either of the above, but assuming for the 3* you meant the Hyatt Place, i believe the following is also the Hyatt Place and would be cheaper than the one above:

3 star Marathon for $229/nite with Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Free Parking, Business Center

I ended up using PRICELINE last night and found the same hotel.  You were correct.  It was the Hyatt Place and I am quite satisfied with the outcome, $229.
