bertgl
Bid $80 Strip North 5*. Added Strip South for $85, Then added airport at $90 and won. Last time I did this we got the Venetian for $90. It was great and that's what I was hoping for again. Never stayed at the Trump, but I'm hopeful! Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! The Trump is a beautiful property but it's located slightly off the strip (they do run regularly scheduled service to the Strip) and there is no casino... if you're OK with these two aspects you'll enjoy your stay here. If you decide to walk to the strip it's a more scenic view if you cut thru the Fashion Show Mall... exit the Trump and walk right across the street, then make your way (indoors) to the corner of the Treasure Island or Venetian. Also, if you're a coffee drinker, there are two Starbucks locations inside the mall which have 'regular' priced coffee (vs. the inflated prices at the Starbucks inside the hotels on the strip) and also an ABC store which has good prices on beer, wine, soda, and snacks that you may want to buy and bring back to your room. bertgl
Compared to the Venetian or the Wynn the Trump is more of a 4 or 4.5 than a 5*. I tipped the front desk $20 upon arrival and got a high floor with a view of the strip. I would be leery of a lower floor because the property is quite near the train tracks and you could hear that lonesome whistle blow several times a day (and night). The shuttle to the Wynn and Ceasars is convenient, but it stops at midnight, so be prepared to spend for a taxi. Only one restaurant (plus pool side service). The pool is nice, but not spectacular. With no casino the property is quiet and no smoking at all inside the property - both a big plus as far as I'm concerned. Link to comment
