evex3
Hi- I'm looking at Priceline Express for a 5 star hotel this coming weekend. I'd like something mid-strip or North (though this price is for South bc it's so cheap, I wanted to inquire) where we can get a good night's sleep. I'm not sure whether or not to worry about crowds at check-in, taxis, etc at this time of year or not. Can anyone help ID this deal from PRICELINE (via linke on this site)? The Kitchenette is throwing me. 5 Star Hotel in Las Vegas Strip North Area $104 per night1 King Bed - Superior Room With City View - Free Wifi, Kitchenette Check In:Fri Jan 15, 2016 Check Out:Mon Jan 18, 2016 2 people Guest Score: Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center Link to comment
evex3
I found a similar posting on the south and on the north side of the strip. Here's the priceline express posting for the north side. Any ideas on the hotel ID? *This says it is a hotel without a Casino. 2 people Jan 15-18, 2016 Priceline Express 5 Star Hotel in Las Vegas Strip NORTH Area for $104 a night 1 King Bed - Superior Room With City View - Free Wifi, Kitchenette Free internet swimming pool pets allowed fitness center restaurant buisness center guest ratings: very good Link to comment

evex3
I was hoping for ID help with the Priceline Express offers, pretty please. also I'm trying to decide if it's worth spending a bit more money on the casino hotel with a 9 guest rating than the non-casino hotel with an 8 rating. I posted a request to help ID both of the priceline express offers I'm seeing. We are not big gamblers and don't want to slog through a ton of people getting in and out of the hotel, but it's our first time to Las Vegas and if this seems like it could be a great hotel, I'm interested! Here's this offer: 5 Star *Casino* Hotel in Las Vegas Strip North Area --$147 2 people Jan 15-18, 2016 Guest Rating is: 9+ "KING BED - NONSMOKING LUXURY SUITE" Free Parking Swimming Pool Fitness Center Restaurant Casino Business Center Link to comment
evex3
Aaron, Thank you for such a speedy reply! Sorry, I thought I needed to post 3 separate posts to ask about the 3 priceline express offers. The post above is SOUTH strip. I put that in the title but apologize for leaving it out of the body. Do you think that the aforementioned offer is not trump since trump is north, right? Am i mistaken? Thanks! Eve Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing: 5* Strip North $104 Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center -- Likely Trump 5* Strip South $134 Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Free Internet, Free Parking, Business Center, Fitness Center -- A guess would be Vdara 5* Strip North $147 Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center -- Possible Venetian or Palazzo Please let us know if you have any questions before booking and keep us updated on what you decide. evex3
HI, I'm trying to decide btwn priceline and hotwire, and btwn bidding and just buying a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer. I've read the boards as best as I can but I would love some guidance. 5 star Las Vegas North or mid-strip Jan 15-18, 2016 2 people/1 room non-smoking (flexible about casino or not) Priceline express offers are $147 for this combination (casino hotel) or $104 (I think) w/o casino Any recommendations on which approach to take (bidding vs express) and what to offer as a starting bid? Our budget is flexible, I just want a good deal on a great hotel and am starting to feel like I've gone down a rabbit hole of research. I'd rather get a respectable price in the next few hours than the cheapest possible deal over another few days. I think that means I could stomach 1-2 rounds of bidding only. This is our first trip to Vegas and we are short on time so we're just looking for a lot of bang for our buck. Thoughts? Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
Bidding is going to be cheaper, but you have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating you pick in the zone you pick. If there is a potential hotel in that zone at that star rating that you don't want, there's no way to avoid it when bidding. PRICELINE EXPRESS is slightly/moderately more than bidding, but you have a greater chance of getting something of interest, as the information allows one to make an educated guess. 18 minutes ago, evex3 said: am starting to feel like I've gone down a rabbit hole of research The problem that happens with this sometimes is that it's easy to overthink/over-research and if the decision is not made right away, deals frequently change, especially in major areas. While there may be a better deal, in recent years, when prices move, the direction has mostly been up. The other problem becomes if the deals PRICELINE EXPRESS offer change and a new listing takes the place of the one you are looking at, the new/different hotel may not be as appealing as the one you waited too long to buy.
