thereuare
An excellent deal for NYC and this hotel provides good access to two different subway stations. There are a lot of pubs in this area as well as some sushi restaurants... you're also near my often recommended: Jackson Hole Wyoming Third Ave at 35th St --> great (and HUGE) burgers. Service can be a bit spotty but makes for a great heavy lunch or inexpensive dinner El Rio Grande Third Ave at 37th St (look at the base of the apartment building on the west side of the street) --> eat elsewhere but do go for their excellent frozen margaritas (expensive at $10+ each... perhaps more since the last time i've been there) but you won't likely need more then one (as they pack a punch) and good chips/salsa at the bar I used to work not too far from this area so any further questions (or any other questions above the city) feel free to ask. Also, for a quick and inexpensive morning breakfast this is decent: Daniel's Bagels (Third Ave between 37-38th St)... but at least worth the trip for one visit during your stay would be a bit further up Third Ave: Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.
