thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm not currently seeing this property offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing the above on your own search? This zone is not really bid/purchased that frequently, do your plans have need you to be in this zone or were you attracted to it based upon price? What is your maximum budget per nite (before fees/taxes) for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. asg82
I'm going to a beer festival (Savor) at the National Building Museum so I wanted something in close walking distance. Link to comment

I'm going to a beer festival (Savor) at the National Building Museum so I wanted something in close walking distance. This location looks to be a short walk from the Red Line metro station... would something in another nearby zone near the metro station be an option? asg82
1) Nope, now I'm getting something else $90 for Free Internet Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access 2) Right now the plan is for 4 of us to share a room at the Fairfield Inn for $170 because it is so close. If there's one not much further away for a much cheaper price, I would do that but I've never done the "not know the name" thing before. They would definitely balk at having to take the Metro. thereuare
Even in the Convention Center-Arts District zone you could end up with a hotel that is not walkable to your location... and earlier you mentioned only two guests, sounds like there will actually be four? I'd suggest using your sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to find something that works for your needs near your needed location. The interface there will make it easy to weigh your options in regards to how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating OR to stay closer/further from your ideal location. Let us know whatever you decide for this trip or if we can be of further help. asg82
We are 4 people. If we are at the price we are now ($160) we'll all share a room with air beds or whatever but if we can get something like $90 or $100 we would discuss getting 2 rooms. That's why I was trying to determine what hotel it was (honestly, I thought half of the point of this forum was for figuring out what hotel they're trying to give you, the other half for bidding tips). It appears most hotels in the area would be walkable. For instance, the one I have now could be the Hampton Inn, that would be perfect. On a side note, any way to stop these pop-ups every time I post? Link to comment
thereuare
They would definitely balk at having to take the Metro....we'll all share a room with air beds...It made me laugh that your friends are OK shlepping air beds into a hotel and sleeping on the floor but are too good for the metro. If you tell us your needs/goals/requirements from the onset it's much easier to help you find something that works for your plans (which i believe i have accomplished below). Searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children there is a 4* hotel in the Capitol Hill-National Mall zone for $116/nite with: Free Internet Indoor Pool Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... best guess for this one would be the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, which if correct, looks like it would be less than a 10 minute walk to the National Building Museum. asg82
Yes, thank you. Its not the "too good" for the Metro. It's more like "so drunk when coming back that we won't want to wait for the Metro." Link to comment
