Vida21
Thank you all for the help in my previous priceline win topic. This is another topic for the first night( seems to be the most expensive. A hotel near the airport was suggested as my flight gets in around 12AM. I am open to ideas, suggestions and more help :) . April 22nd to April 23rd 4 or 3 1/5* Link to comment
yellowdog
First of all we need to know your budget for a 4* vs 3.5* so we don't suggest a zone that's out of your range. Do you want to stay near the airport? Everything depends on your plans for the first night and would also consider the distance to your second hotel. Let us know and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Yellowdog. Link to comment
Romelle
I'm guessing SFO airport, but there are a couple others in the general area that are possibilities? If Free Breakfast is an important amenity for you, it is more common with the lower star level hotels. Free Shuttle Service usually has some sort of cut-off time and a midnight arrival is likely to be beyond it. Even if it is listed as an amenity, don't count on it. Romelle Link to comment
Vida21
I am open to a 3* for up to $130. I don't have anything planned the first night, I thought near the airport because of the late arrival but I am open to other areas also. My hotel the next day is in Union Square West. Link to comment
Vida21
My thoughts are Japan Town, SFO International or USW( it doesn't look like it will be in my price range though)Thank you Link to comment
thereuare
At current rates there is a good chance that $130 will not be enough for a 3* hotel in any of the zones above, and while i don't think it will necessarily improve your chances of getting your bid accepted (although it certainly won't hurt), would Union Square East be acceptable as well? Having FOUR acceptable zones will increase the number of bids you can make a lot more than if you just have three zones. Please confirm and we will advise accordingly. Romelle
The 2.5*s other bidders have reported for SFO are the LaQuinta, Best Western and Holiday Inn Express (from the Hotel Lists above). Right now PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 2.5* offer for $131 for your date. So your 3* bidding is probably close. Romelle Link to comment
Vida21
Thanks Romelle. I may have to go with the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal, I am still not having any luck with my bids. Link to comment

thereuare
At current rates there is a good chance that $130 will not be enough for a 3* hotel in any of the zones above...At current rates i think you will likely need to be in the $140-$165 range to be successful for a 3* or better in one of the four zones you're currently bidding.
