zzdocxx
Hello All, Need to be up in the Huntington Beach area for a few nights (June 25 - 28) and thought I would give the bidding helper a whirl. The way I am understanding this, is that only certain hotels are in the Priceline "Express" domain. Specifically for the Huntington/Newport area, for 4*, it would be either the Newport Marriott Beach Hotel and Spa, or the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. Here is what came up, priced at ~$120/night Newport - Huntington Beach Rated 7.0 out of 10 (or higher)Indoor or Outdoor PoolPets AllowedRestaurantFitness CenterAirport ShuttleBusiness Center Price per night: $118Rooms: 1Nights: 3Room Subtotal: $354.00Travel Insurance $0.00 ( DECLINED ) + Add now Recommended!Taxes & Fees: $67.65Total Price:All prices are in U.S. Dollar. I would be happy at either the Marriott or Hyatt, however, if somehow the Airport Fairmont slipped into the mix, I would have to think it over. What is your take on this ? Thanks ! Link to comment
AaronJB
The Fairmont Newport Beach has been reported to the board with this amenity set previously, so that would be my guess. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Romelle
I would be happy at either the Marriott or Hyatt, however, if somehow the Airport Fairmont slipped into the mix, I would have to think it over. AaronJB's educated guess has a solid basis, but you always have to be prepared to accept any 4* or higher within the area map. As near as I can tell, the Airport Fairmont address is within the PRICELINE EXPRESS Newport-Huntington Beach area map. And there may be other 4*s also beyond the Marriott or Hyatt. zzdocxx
Thanks Gentlemen. That was the part that threw me off, that the Hotel list for Priceline "Express" shows only the two and not the Fairmont. How about this'un ? It is from Hotwire, says it is 4*, in Newport Beach area. yellowdog
That was the part that threw me off, that the Hotel list for Priceline "Express" shows only the two and not the Fairmont. The Hotel List is not a complete list of all hotels in this area, it is only a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. This is what I see when replicating your search,Pet FriendlyShuttleFitnessPoolRestaurantBusinessHi-Speed InternetGolfTennisSpaBlind AccessibleDeaf AccessibleRoom AccessibleBathroom AccessibleHandicapped ParkingRoll-in Shower If this is what you see would my best guess be Fairmont Newport Beach. zzdocxx
Yes, thank you so much YD, I had a feeling that was part of the issue. Right now I'm on the fence about this vs. one of those vacation rentals places. But this clarifies, I was wondering about that amenities list as I had seen that mentioned elsewhere on this forum. What a great resource. Link to comment

zzdocxx
Sorry for the tardy response here, been under the weather. Finally went with a "vacation rental" place, paying around $140/night, but nearby, has kitchen for convenience and so forth. Thanks ! Link to comment
