matt1hill
I have family coming into town 4/1 - 4/5 and I am looking for a hotel in Highland park or Deerfield. One of the deerfield hotels including Hyatt, Renasaince, marriott suites, embassy would be most convenient since we are in Highland Park. I see the following listings through Hot.wire. Can you help me identify what they may be? I just want to steer away from glenview (Sheraton or Wyndham ) as those are fairly far away. Here are the listings. Northbrook - Glenview - Mt. Prospect 3* $49 FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby 3.5* - $65 FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking 4* - $83 FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking Thanks in advance. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Best guess/comments for each are inline below: Northbrook - Glenview - Mt. Prospect 3* $49 --> Holiday Inn Mt Prospect would be my guess 3.5* - $65 --> is there also Roll-in Shower associated with this property? (perhaps wasn't highlighted in your copy/paste) If so, my guess would be the Crowne Plaza. 4* - $83 --> i'm seeing a different/longer amenity set for this one: Free Parking Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Golf Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing the Renaissance North Shore would be my best guess here Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. AaronJB
The Renaissance NS would be a great option if you need to be in HP/Deerfield. It probably won't be terribly green by first week in April, but the Botanic Garden's walk-in entrance is on the other side of the highway from the Renaissance - that's an extraordinary place to visit and free if you can make your way over to the walk-in. I'm very familiar with the area and would be happy to offer any suggestions. The other thought that I have is this: you could also try bidding on a 3.5* in the Deerfield area on PRICELINE. The South boundary for that zone is pretty much Lake Cook Road, so no way you could wind up in Glenview. If you bid for a 3.5* in Deerfield, unless something's changed, the known hotels at that level are the Hyatt Deerfield, Marriott Suites or Embassy Suites. I've stayed at all three and found them to be very nice hotels. matt1hill
Thank you both. I have been trying to bid on the 3.5 for Deerfield on Price.line thinking it is the reneasance but at $75 with no luck. I will keep trying. I think the 4* on Hot.wire is the Sheraton and that is a little far to be going back and forth. I wish Hotwire tightened up their zones a bit. Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
As noted, the 3.5* knowns are the Hyatt, Embassy and Marriott Suites. The Renaissance falls under the North Shore zone on the PRICELINE map - but that zone also includes Northbrook and Glenview. In terms of the 4* on HOTWIRE in the Northbrook zone, I'm seeing a 4* in that zone when searching for these dates for $83 w/Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Golf, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly.-- The Renaissance was guessed above and I would agree - the Renaissance has been reported to the board with this amenity set previously. In terms of the Sheraton, there's a shortcut from there to where the Renaissance is. Takes a few minutes at most (North on Waukegan to Voltz, cut across East on Voltz to Sunset Ridge, a minute or two North to Skokie Blvd and the Renaissance. AaronJB
The amenities would be a fit for the Hilton Northbrook or Renaissance, but the Renaissance has been reported to the board with this amenity set previously, so that would be the guess in this case.
