maximilano
Hello,I came accross this site while researching how to use priceline name your own price. I was wondering if you guys had any tips for my specific trip, or how much I should bid. It's my first time in Vegas so I wanted to stay a nicer hotel. I am looking for 4 stars or higher. The dates of my trip are 05/14/15 to 05/18/15. Thanks in advance!! :D EDIT: I should add that I was looking to stay in the North Strip area. Link to comment

maximilano
Thank you! I have never been to Vegas so I'm not sure how much hotels usually cost but I was hoping to spend around $100/night, or of course the least possible and still have a nice stay. Link to comment
thereuare
Note that the SLS is a 4* hotel in the northern part of the North Strip zone and this would be a little too far north for a first time visitor, imo. Although i can't rule out the SLS, i think Treasure Island is offered on PL for $130/nite, if this is of any interest. You could try bidding on PRICELINE for a better price, but then you'll be more subject to the SLS (which again, i can't entirely rule out for the PRICELINE EXPRESS property, although i think it is more likely Treasure Island). If you're willing to look beyond the Strip North zone what looks like the Tropicana is on HOTWIRE for $135/nite. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. maximilano
I think you are right, SLS might be too far. I am actually hoping to stay as close as possible to MGM. I am attending the Rock in Rio festival there and I was hoping to avoid having to get a monorail pass. Do you know if the Tropicana is an option on priceline or hotwire? Treasure Island also looks really good, I wouldn't mind staying there. Link to comment
maximilano
Sorry to make this thread so long. I just realized that maybe South Strip is better for me. A friend had told me that North was better, but in looking at the map South Strip is closer to (and includes) the MGM. Link to comment
thereuare
You can try THIS LINK (confirm your dates on the landing page and will expire 30 minutes after posting... if the link doesn't work then search using our BiddingHelper.com)... this (or thru another search) you should see a 4* hotel in the Strip South zone for ~$137/nite (your rate may differ by a few dollars) with the following amenities: Free Parking Free Internet Resort Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, the Tropicana would be my best guess for this one and is across the street from the MGM. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. maximilano
Thank you all for your help! It turns out it was better for me to stay in North strip because that's where the MGM festival grounds are.I tried to name my own price a few times (using the links on this site of course), but unfortunately I didn't get the results I wanted. I tried North and South strip from 4+ stars and bid up to $115 and they were all declined. I was getting ready to buy to use the Priceline express link, but first I decided to check the hotel's website directly and I feel like I got a much better deal. Priceline was offering $130/night (or $155 for a room with strip view). The hotel offered me $127.25/night (or $139.50/night for a room with strip view) and both deals included "2 Free Buffets" whatever that means...It was a limited time offer so needless to say I got very lucky. But again, thank you for your help and I will definitely book through better bidding in the future! Link to comment
