Noting was on this neighb orhood of Pitt on your site, so I bid $51 for a 3*. Priceline said no but suggested increasing $14. I did and won the HI Select Pittsburgh at Univ. Center

Your Offer Price: $65.00

Number of Rooms: 1

Number of Nights: 1

Subtotal: $65.00

Taxes & Service Fees:

$16.79

Total Charges: $81.79

Question: Do you think I could have won if I had not heeded the $14 increase?

Anyway, I'm quite happy...hotel normally goes for $119 - $160 on other sites :)

Yes, but you would need to use your re-bid zones in order to undercut the counter-offer. If you didn't add another (re-bid) zone and tried to bid less than an increase of $14 they would not have processed your bid... the ability to bid again without changing anything is conditional upon you raising the amount they indicate.
