doyouhow
Restaurant, Fitness Center, Free Internet, Business CenterRating:8+Price: 225/night Discount: this is where it goes weird: on the Exp list, it says "save 28%", but when I clicked in the booking list, it became "save 34%". This can mean two different hotels, right!?Booking period: May 11-14 Link to comment
AaronJB
The Four Points Sheraton Midtown and Courtyard TS West have been seen with this amenity set previously, so either would be a possibility. doyouhow
Thanks! And I got the reply from PL, they say the 34% is correct. Also, I don't really like Four Points Sheraton Midtown because their cheapest room is kinda tiny, about 200ft I will guess it is Courtyard, since the estimated resale price is closer to the saving rate Link to comment
AaronJB
Small rooms are common in NYC - smaller than 200 sq ft (150ish) is not uncommon, even at the 3.5-4* level. doyouhow
That's true. The room size of Courtyard Marriot TS West is around 280ft, but the interior looks pretty old from the pics Link to comment
AaronJB
I believe that hotel opened a couple of years ago. What are you looking for in terms of hotel? doyouhow
Right, the hotel was built in 2013 so it can not possibly be old. We must have a room larger than 200ft (ideally 250ft), and then we want it to be close to midtown or downtown, our budget is $250 pre-tax. We are going to stay in May. Should we wait and see if there will be better offer? Now it seems impossible to find one below $250 that will also meet our needs. But meanwhile I also worry that since mid-May is close to graduation, the hotel prices may rise. Link to comment
thereuare
We must have a room larger than 200ft (ideally 250ft)... How do you intend to guarantee this aspect with an opaque purchase from PRICELINE or HOTWIRE? (while you may be able to take a guess as to the hotel received, there is no assurance your guess will be correct and/or what type of room you're assigned) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. doyouhow
I guess I can't guarantee, since average Manhattan hotels do not meet my requirement. Should I wait for better offer then? Link to comment
thereuare
If room size is a need, rather than a want, then i would book a named hotel and room type that meets your requirements (pleas use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to do so). If budget/saving money is ultimately more important than room size, then what is the room rate of the 3.5* PRICELINE EXPRESS offer (i may have missed it if it's listed above) and what is it that you would be looking for in a hotel that would classify it as 'better' in your view?
