agianot
Hey everyone, I have two properties that I need help identifying for May 14 to May 17, 2015. They're both 3.5* located on the Center Strip of Las Vegas. Here are the amenities listed for the 3.5* property at $107USD as provided by the bidding helper:Free parking, Pet friendly, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. However, the other 3.5* property does not have any amenities listed and is coming in at $151USD per night. I am hoping to stay at the Flamingo. Anyone have any insight? Link to comment

agianot
My apologies. Unfortunately I am still new at the etiquette for forum posting, but im trying to learn. Link to comment
AaronJB
The 3.5* with amenities is a possible match for Harrah's. In terms of the 3.5* w/o amenities, unfortunately w/o amenities there's really no way to narrow down what this may be. agianot
Is it a common occurrence for Hotwire to provide a hotel listing without amenities? I would fear that the property is Bally's. I will let you know the outcome in the coming days. Thanks again! Link to comment
AaronJB
It's not that common, but is seen occasionally. Sometimes a hotel will hide amenities, or it's a new hotel to the service, but there's no way to know. thereuare
I am hoping to stay at the Flamingo. Anyone have any insight?I would fear that the property is Bally's. I think Bally's is actually the nicer property, imo. Why the interest in Flamingo and desire to avoid Ballys? agianot
It all boils down to the pool and the overall atmosphere at the Flamingo. It's a 'boys trip' (12 of us) and we have always stayed at the Flamingo and enjoyed our time there. However, for whatever reason, May 14 to May 17, 2015 is providing room rates of nearly $300 CDN a night at the Flamingo property. I believe it's due to a couple music festivals that weekend. We do have a friend who's going to be staying at Bally's in a week so we will have to liaison with him as to how his stay was etc. Worst case scenario we stay somewhere else and pay a nominal fee to enjoy the pool at the Flamingo. thereuare
There is a 17.5K person convention on 5/13-5/15 which Las Vegas can easily handle, but would have bit of an effect on demand (especially if there are other smaller events taking place over these same nites), as well as a 34K person convention that stars on 5/17 (and many attending will likely arrive the nite before), this one is definitely having an effect on prices. How many rooms are you looking for? What is your maximum budget for this stay? (per nite before fees/taxes) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. agianot
Wow, that's a lot of peeps. Your insight and resources are awesome! Our per night budget is in the neighborhood of $250CDN per night, anything lower would be great. But if the demand is $300CDN a night we'll have to pay it. Unfortunately, we're not too flexible on location, centre strip is where everyone wants to stay. Link to comment

thereuare
Any interest in the Tropicana at $157(US)/nite? There pool was something 'in the day' but is not dwarfed by the newer mega-resort properties that have come online over the last 10-20 years. I also see what looks like Planet Hollywood for $197/nite. It doesn't get much mention anymore, but the Monte Carlo has a very nice pool with a lazy river, has the central strip location you're seeking, and is available HERE (confirm your dates and occupancy on the landing page) for $187/nite... this rate is also refundable up until a few days before your arrival so you could use this as a back-up (which protects you from rates rising further from there) while you continue to hope for something better to come along thru HOTWIRE.
