imsocloey
I am wondering if there is a way to bid on a 4* close to Disney without landing some of the "lower-scale" 4* hotels in the same area that are already retail priced lower? Specifically, if I was trying to get the Gaylord, which is currently listed at $211, but for Disney main gate celebration area, the Melia is going for $100-140ish. Is this impossible you think? Same goes for Lake Buena Vista area, would like to land a nicer hotel than the Sheraton which is already listed at $96. Oh and if the 5* hotels are going for $500-$850. What would you realistically have to bid to land those ya think?Any advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you! Link to comment
thereuare
When bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to avoid specific hotel(s), you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. If you are looking to target/avoid some properties, i would sooner suggest using HOTWIRE and/or PRICELINE EXPRESS where you may be able to guess the hotel beforehand based upon the description provided OR at the very least use the user review information to know that you are likely getting one of the 'better' properties in the zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. imsocloey
I'm sorry after much investigation I found a 4* hotel at Maingate Celebration - going for $80 on Hot.wire - The Melia a suite with a full kitchen. But after checking the Walt Disney website everyday, I found a packaged deal that after you calculate ticket costs, makes the hotel free or the dining package free. So I ended up booking it. Thank you for the advice, it really made me focus in on my wants and to try to identify the exact areas and amenities I wanted to land. Link to comment
