AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, this is one of the busiest periods of the year and prices are quite high - for a 4* you're likely looking at at least around $260-275 for a 4* in Midtown. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
ambscram
Do you think if I drop it to 3.5* we could get it for less that 200 a night or wait closer to time? Link to comment
thereuare
Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay, it all depends upon how actual new reservations/cancellations come in relative to expected new reservations/cancellations. PRICELINE EXPRESS does have this 4 star Midtown East hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $214/nite. It only shows Restaurant and Business amenities, which are common for NYC so it could easily be some other property, but the Roosevelt has been seen with this amenity set and would be my guess for this one... although there is a chance it could also be The Lexington (or some other property given how common these amenities are). Alternatively, you with this link you could book The Roosevelt for $239/nite and it would be refundable up until the day before your arrival (confirm dates and cancellation policy on the landing page) which would give you the opportunity to continue bidding over the next 2 weeks while also protecting yourself from rates rising further from here. If you book the above as a refundable backup, you could then also use our RateDrop service to monitor 3.5* and 4* hotels in the zones you want for your dates and receive an alert should the rate for anything meeting your criteria drop to $200 or less (or whatever dollar amount you specify) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes OR how we can be of further help. ambscram
I clicked on link to roosevelt for 239 a night and it said it was 339 a night did they go up? Link to comment
thereuare
Yes, unfortunately looks like the rate for that property has increased. Closest 4* i see now is The Lucerne for $265/nite which is refundable (they also have a non-refundable $265/nite rate so make sure you choose the correct one if you go with this option, as well as confirm dates on the landing page) This property is not walkable to Times Square (or ESB), but it does get great reviews and is 1 block from the subway which will have you to Times Square in under 10 minutes (and the Empire State Building in under 15 minutes) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
