Seneschal
Hotwire Hot Rate $102 per night, 5 * $284 original, 64% off 90% recommendedFree ParkingFree InternetPool(s)Pet FriendlyFitness CenterResort This hotel charges a resort fee of about $25.00 per room per night "The last person got the Trump International..." So I suspect it's going to be the Trump, given the large drop between this and other 5* on the Strip (~$180-$200). Any other guesses or recommendations?Would I do better to try to bid on Priceline? I failed at $80 for the same period. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :) I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? If you have bid up to $80 and there is a $102 Hot.wire listing, you are likely not far off from a win. However, you can get the Trump when bidding. Please provide the full list of amenities for the Hot.wire listing and we would be happy to take a look and see if it is the Trump or a different hotel. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
Seneschal
Ah, I see Here it goes: FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Internet, Spa Services, Resort, Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Kitchenette Link to comment
AaronJB
This would be a likely match for the Trump. Would the Trump be acceptable? If not, I wouldn't bid on Price.line any further in North Strip. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
Seneschal
Thanks, will do the research on it. We have a refundable reservation on Mandalay Bay but will see if this comes down further as we get closer to the date. Interesting it's already dropped $5 today from $103 originally to $98. AaronJB
There probably isn't much more downside potential to the price and the cost could move back higher. Let us know if the Trump is acceptable and we would be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed. If not we would be happy to offer other suggestions (although they will likely be more expensive.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
thereuare
We have a refundable reservation on Mandalay Bay...Please check for and use the links in our Support Page for your hotel direct purchases where we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies, including Mandalay Bay. ... will see if this comes down further as we get closer to the date.Using our new service RateDrop you can monitor rates for these dates to see if any 5* hotel in this zone drops in price thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS... or use the 'Hotels by Name' tab to be notified of any rate drops specifically at the Mandalay Bay. Seneschal
Thanks, I set the Rate.Drop in effect for Hot.wire. Strangely, neither Mandalay Bay nor Delano works, I get a red "Hotel not found" error. There seem to be some complaints about Trump, what are the pros and cons of it? Seems the ratings on Tripadvisor are generally good. Since we're going to a baseball tournament, the overriding issue may be my son's need to stay with his friends on the team :-( Link to comment
thereuare
Strangely, neither Mandalay Bay nor Delano works...If you're using the default settings the site is searching within 5 miles of Las Veags, with 'Las Vegas' being the city center, not necessarily 'The Strip'. Expand your search to 10 miles and you should see both Mandalay Bay and the Delano. There seem to be some complaints about Trump, what are the pros and cons of it?.Generaly the complaints are the off-strip location and that there is no casino. Since we're going to a baseball tournament, the overriding issue may be my son's need to stay with his friends on the team :-(Please use the links in our Support Page, or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, if you decided to purchase a 'named' hotel where the rest of the team is staying. Seneschal
Found out that the tournament is played in Henderson, NV. We might be better off staying there to avoid all the Vegas traffic in the mornings. Can anyone help identify this from Hotwire? I am hoping it's Westin Lake Las Vegas: $82 per night for 10/30-11/2, here are the amenities listed: Henderson, Southeast 4* FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Internet, Resort, Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's actvities, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing a 4* in this zone w/Resort, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Golf, Tennis, Spa, Childrens Activities, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly. That amenity set hasn't been confirmed, but my guess is a new amenity set for the Westin. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Seneschal
I clicked on the Priceline tab and saw this 4* hotel on the PRICELINE EXPRESS option. Do you think it's the westin as well? Under Lake Las Vegas there is only the Westin listed as 4* Sorry if I should have posted this under Priceline to identify instead... Lake Las Vegas Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Indoor or Outdoor Pool Restaurant Fitness Center Free Internet Business Center $ 68 per night Link to comment
thereuare
It is correct to post this additional request as we ask that all requests for the same stay go in the same thread (as this makes it easier to see what has already been considered). Once you win a hotel use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of this page to fill out the form and report the details of your purchase... the entire thread will then automatically be moved (if necessary) to the correct section of the board. :) Also, when replying, please use the BIG 'ADD REPLY' button (outside of the post... rather than the 'QUOTE' button inside of the post) so that you don't quote the entire previous thread (unless you intended/needed to include that quote in your reply) As far as the Lake Las Vegas property, my best guess for this one would indeed be the Westin, although i will point out that there is another 4* hotel in this area, the Hilton Lake Las Vegas (although i don't believe that this is the property that you're being offered above... i do believe that one to likely be the Westin) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Seneschal
Thanks for your help. I checked and the Hilton Lake LV has a resort fee of $22, so I do believe this is indeed the Westin since the $28 resort fee matches. Tried a low-ball offer of $50 and failed. Will research the zones for a rebid... Reading the reviews it seems this property is fairly deserted as it is out far from everything, that's why the large discounts. The distance to the tournament fields is about the same as from the Strip, even though both are in Henderson. I guess that's a large town! Will report back afterwards. Link to comment

Seneschal
I added a post last night but can't seem to find my post. Also I didn't report the win. Hopefully I'm not duplicating. Note this is in Price.line as Lake Las Vegas zone, it is not listed as a choice on the board. Started with low-ball bid of $50 for 4* in Lake Las Vegas, failed. Waited one day and rebid on Sunday at $60, was given a come-on of $72. Rebid with $64 adding the Henderson - Southeast zone at 4*, success. Used the PRICELINE link from this board to bid. Hotel Room Cost $64.00 /per room night Rooms 1 Nights 3 Taxes and Fees $33.78 Total Charges $225.78 Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :) Nice win for this property and glad you were able to get the hotel you were hoping for. Seneschal
I steered a couple parents onto this board to bid on the same property around the same dates. They reported they were successful as well. They're PL neophytes but hopefully you got the credit for them! Link to comment
