Citygal
Friends are asking my help to find something within their budget (<$200), and just today I see Hotwire has listed a 3.5 star for their dates of 10/17 - 10/19 for $173. The ONLY one under $200 in the area they desire. Hotwire says "The last person got the Allerton" but I know that's not definitely the one. Amenities are: Internet access, Pool(s), pet friendly, fitness center, business center, smoke-free rooms, restaurant(s), & access for the blind. Accessing Hotwire through Better Bidding does not produce this hotel listing for $173. Do any of you pro's have a guess for me!? :) Thank you in advance! Link to comment
AaronJB
My guess would be the Hampton Inn Mag Mile (which was the Crowne Plaza Avenue up until recently.) I'm very familiar with the area, so let me know if you have any city questions or questions about different listings (unfortunately, these are busy/expensive dates.) If your friends are driving in, staying outside the city would be much cheaper. Please let your friends know about Betterbidding and using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start their purchases and searches - it's greatly appreciated. :) Link to comment
Citygal
I forgot to put "Tennis nearby" in the amenities. Is the Hampton still your guess? And thank you so much for your reply. Really appreciate it! I will tell them and see what they want to do. I would gladly have them use the BB Priceline or Hotwire, but this particular rate / listing is not on the BB site. Bummer! AaronJB
If you click the through the Betterbidding Hot.wire link, are you not seeing this listing or are you seeing a slightly different rate? Rates often change slightly throughout the day. My guess would still be the Hampton. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
Citygal
There is no listing for anything under $200 on this site for those dates / that location. :( I checked an hour ago...I can check again shortly. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Link to comment
thereuare
I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method below is the full list of amenities associated with the 3.5* in the Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower zone when i search for your dates (and i'm seeing a price between $190-$194/nite): Pet Friendly Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Tennis Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile would be my best guess. When helping others please ask them to stop by the board and use the links here to begin their purchase (or using the BiddingHelper.com as it will most easily help them confirm that the property they are seeing is the same as the one you're referencing) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Citygal
I gave them all of the information, but in the end they decided not to be as adventurous as hubby and I, and chose to use some points and book a "sure thing" with a Marriott. : / As always, the help from this board is much-appreciated! thereuare
Thank you for closing this thread with your/their decision. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
