bb92037
CORRECTION: 2* or better would be OK with us. I'm trying to book a room for August 18 for 1 night in San Francisco. The Express Deal is offering $163 for a 3* hotel in the Marina - Lombard area. I'm guessing that hotel is Da Vinci Villa, which would be OK. But with taxes it'll probably come out close to $200, which is a bit high for us. I'm wondering if I can get it -- or something like it -- for less by bidding for it. We're OK with any area in the city:Center South - Hayes Valley – detail mapFinancial District - Embarcadero – detail mapFisherman's Wharf – detail mapJapan Town - Civic Center North – detail mapMarina - Lombard Street – detail mapRichmond – detail mapSOMA - Moscone Center – detail mapSouth San Francisco – detail mapUnion Square East - Nob Hill – detail mapUnion Square West – detail map And we prefer a hotel with a pool. How should I go about bidding? Also, we are actually 2 adults with 2 young kids (5 & 11yrs). I'm feeling optimistic that we can get a room with 2 beds, but ... is that foolish, you think? Should I just go with Da Vinci Villa? Thanks. Link to comment

bb92037
I got antsy so I went ahead and booked the EXPRESS DEAL for 3* in Marina-Lombard for $163. It came out to $200 w/ taxes and fees. And the hotel turned out to be ... ... drum roll please ... ... as I suspected ... ... although I'm a tad surprised that I was right ... Ta da !!! Da Vinci Villa. Hotels..com has 'em for the same night for $206 + tax = probably around $240. So not bad, Priceline.express Link to comment
