AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :) Very, very nice deal for this well-located property! I'll note that there's a Capital One Cafe across the street of this property. That is a great Starbucks-type operation run by the financial company that offers very reasonable coffee, tea and other Starbucks-like options. There's also a beautiful Argo Tea that was built in the park across the street. Let us know if you have any Chicago questions. CactusGolf
Thanks for the tips! I've usually stayed at the Intercontinental on Michigan so this will be something different. Link to comment

AaronJB
Thanks for the tips! I've usually stayed at the Intercontinental on Michigan so this will be something different. Happy to help! :) I'll also throw in a recommendation for tiny bakery Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafter (http://www.yelp.com/biz/hendrickx-belgian-bread-crafter-chicago), which is a block or two from your hotel. Plenty of nightlife and restaurant options a short walk North in the Gold Coast area, as well. Lastly, wouldn't really eat there - too chaotic - but Eataly (http://www.yelp.com/biz/eataly-chicago-chicago) is a great deal of fun to browse around. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment

CactusGolf
It was before. After-tax was $345 for two nights. Keep in mind too that if you have to park in Chicago at the hotel, it could get pricey! IIRC, the Park Hyatt Chicago charges $62 per night. Link to comment
