sghokie
I am looking at booking a room in Miami 8/21-8/23/14. I am trying to figure out when the best time is to book. I am about 1 month out right now, I am considering a 5 star in Miami Beach.Price now is $213 per night. Features Free InternetResortBeachfront hotelFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterTennis Nearby My concerns on when to book factors arePrice going up if I dont book or going down after I book. Then of course if there is a hurricane and I can't or dont want to go I am out of a wad of cash since with Hotwire canceling is not possible. So my options are book howire now and cross my fingers.orBook a cancellable room in my price range and then watch hotwire and see what happens maybe a week or so out from my trip. I recently took a trip to Baltimore and watching the dates on hotwire for a 4star was only $95 per night and then at about 3 weeks out, the 4 star prices shot up by about 50%. Link to comment
yellowdog
HOTWIRE will typically refund you if there's a severe/official hurricane warning to not travel in this area. What have you decided to do, book or wait? Hotels/prices offered now may not be the ones available once you're ready to commit. Let us know when you're ready to book and we'll take a look at this. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog. Link to comment

thereuare
The Fontainebleau would be my best guess for this one. sghokie
I decided to not book through HOTWIRE or PRICELINE and found a room on another site. I was about to book a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with PL for a 4.5 star miami beach room that would have been about $190 per night + tax and fees after coupon, but last week when I went to book it the price jumped up by about $50 per night. It was kind of annoying because when I pulled it up it was the lower price but upon clicking on the room I got the "sorry its sold out" message. I tried PL bidding and got up to $190 per night and then gave up. There does seem to be a science though about when to book a room on hotwire or PL. Link to comment
