mikeorb
Hi. Booking 5 nights in Chicago for 12/22 - 12/27 and rates are cheap compared to the warmer months. Looking at Embassy Suites Lakefront for a change of location (usually closer to Water Tower). I could not find a definitive hit at Hotwire because all listings lack any suite/breakfeast ammenity.Any pointers? This looks possible ...3.5-star hotel in Magnificent Mile - Wacker Drive (Downtown Areas)$80Customer Favorite! This distinctive establishment offers comfortable rooms, personal service and some upscale features. See hotel details * Restaurant(s) * Pool(s) * Fitness Center * Business CenterAlso, where do they get the retail prices? Seem very low compared to Internet and especially "rack rate," which is what sites usually list to inflate savings. Thanks in advance,-Mike Link to comment
AaronJB
That hotel would likely be the Sheraton Towers, which is essentially across the street.I believe the Embassy Suites would likely come up with the Suite and Breakfast icons. The Embassy Suites rarely gets reported as a Hotwire win, and only once recently has someone reported getting it on Priceline. Link to comment
thereuare
Hotwire will only show the lowest price hotel within a given zone and star rating... so if another hotel in the area (at the same star level) is consistently cheaper, than the more expensive hotel will be shown infrequently. mikeorb
Thanks guys. The $109 rate is not bad. But now that I am thinking about it I may look in the loop to be closer to the El. We stayed at the Burnham a long time ago and have seen it pops up on Hotwire. -Mike Link to comment
mikeorb
We ended up getting a $99 rate at the Mariott Michigan Ave directly from the hotel's Website. So we did not use Hotwire, etc. Link to comment
