Hotwire Hotel: Hotwire - Calgary 3.5 star - header

Hello, I have a question about the header for a Hotwire hotel. I am looking at buying a 3.5 star hotel in downtown Calgary on Hotwire, when I select the hotel the header says "Book soon! The last person got the Delta Bow Valley".

Is it guaranteed you will get this specific hotel ? I think if it is I will buy it because of the location, but if it isn't I will severly disappointed. What is up with the header anyways ? Does the hotel give incentive to us by listing the name ?

 

Also I checked the hotel list rating and it is listed as 4 star, did it go down half a star ?

Please don't post HOTWIRE links. They expire very fast and is "attached" to your personal HOTWIRE session

The "last person got ..." message shown by HOT.WIRE is in reference to the last person who won a hotel in that zone at that star rating... it doesn't apply to the amenity set of the current offer nor does it say anything about the current hotel offered.

If you need any ID help so please list the amenities HOT.WIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and we'll be happy to have a look at this. Please run a search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. thank you for your reply, I see what you mean by its just a reference to the last person who a hotel in that star rating.

 

Is it possible the Delta Bow Hotel has slipped half a star ? In the hotel list its listed as 4 star but in the last won hotel, Delta Bow is listed as 3.5 star

 

I need a room with 2 beds so I put down 3 adults (I assume if I put 3 people I will at least get 1 bed and some type of roll out sofa bed) ?

 

There is this one other hotel at 3.5 star hotel:

amenities:

free internet, pet friendly, indoor pool, fitness centre, business centre, nearby golf and restaurant. 

 

Is it possible, this can be also the Delta Bow ? I was going over the hotel list and it really could be any of the 3 big hotels listed (Hyatt, Westin and Delta) because the

amenities are not definitive.

We update the hotel lists whenever a new hotel or star rating is reported to the board, so it's always possible that a hotel has changed star ratings since last reported (see the comments at the top of the Hotwire Hotel List)

I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i'm seeing for the 3.5* hotel in the Downtown zone when searching for your dates and 3adults:

Pet Friendly

Indoor Pool

Fitness

Pool

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Golf

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

... if this is what you're seeing, my best guess here would indeed be a downgrade of the Delta Bow Valley.

Also, are there only two people but you'd li9ke separate sleeping accommodations? If so, you can also try searching for 2adults/2children and see if the same hotel is offered as the one above, as sometimes making the 3rd/4th guest in the room a child instead of an adult does not increase the price (and should still ensure that two people have separate sleeping accommodations).

I didn't bid/buy on this property because of the 3 adults needing at least 2 beds.

 

I ended up purchasing the Delta Bow Valley site via another site.

The price was the same as Hot.wire, except I knew for sure which hotel I was getting.

 

I also tried bidding up to $100 for 4 star hotel, but no sign of success so I gave up that one.

With Pric.eline I didn't see the option of entering 3 people so I could of been stuck with one bed.

Hopefully, next time I will get one through Hotwire/Priceline. I started my search by hitting the
