Priceline Hotel: Priceline or Hotwire

Hubby and I are going to NYC 6/6-6/8.  We currently have a refundable reservation for $230/night however would like something cheaper.  We only want to stay in MIdtown and preferably close to Times Square.  At least 3.5 stars and up.  Do you suggest we use Hotwire or PL?  Thanks

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

Please also close your previous Priceline NYC thread, post in that thread what you decided for that stay. Please follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc.

We ended up using our reservation that we previously made and did not use Hot.wire or Price.line.
