We will stay on April 18th.

Hotel will be in McCormick Place - South Loop - Soldier Field, 3* 75 usd/night

FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Internet, Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower

I would like to be close to Downtown but I need a free parking, therefore this is the only one shows.

I am thinking this will be Chicago South Loop Hotel, what do you think?

Also do you have a bidding strategy for this region? May I have chance to catch a better deal? Waiting your comments, thanks.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOT.WIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOT.WIRE usually costs a little more than PRICE.LINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.

Keep in mind with this area that there is little directly around - it's okay if you are just coming for a convention at McCormick, but otherwise it's not an area I'd recommend from a tourist perspective. Free parking is a plus, but there are downsides to staying in this area.

Dear Aaron,

Thanks for the info, I will be in a convention at McCormick but after that I will have one day with my wife to see around. I will be staying in South Loop hotel for 4 days but after that I will have a free day. Do you recommend downtown? or which area would you recommend?

I thought I can use the metro to go downtown thats why I have chosen that area, what do you think? Thanks for your kind help and comments.

I definitely think the South Loop hotel is an affordable option and it's a rare free parking hotel in a downtown where parking is $30 per night in city lots (+tax.) However, while this isn't far from McCormick, the issue becomes this really requires either heading to a CTA station (which isn't *right* nearby), taking a taxi at least to the Loop (which is a short ride but adds up) or trying to get a bus (and I'm not sure if there's a bus right by this hotel) downtown. The area around this hotel is going to be very quiet at night.

Personally, I'm seeing a 3.5* in the Mag Mile-River North area when searching for 4/18 only, with fitness, restaurant, business, internet, pool for $59 (this is on Hot.wire and the price you see may vary slightly.) That Mag Mile-RN area hotel is likely the Doubletree - I'd then park at one of the many lots around that hotel or at Navy Pier. You're probably looking at around $30 at Navy Pier , so $59 + 31 = $90 +/- a few bucks. $15-20 more than the South Loop hotel, but I think well worth the difference.
