AaronJB Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 The Gold Coast falls within the map zone for River North-NMA on PRICELINE. The HOTWIRE amenity set has been seen previously with the Drake, but these are common amenities so there is the chance this could be something else. The Gold Coast is a very nice area, but it is not central. There is a CTA stop right nearby at State/Division and if it's a nice day (unfortunately, given the way the weather has been this Winter, it very well may not be) it's not a terrible walk North to the Old Town and Lincoln Park areas. Well nice after I complained and was moved to a suite. The first room was a little dirty. We enjoyed the Gold Coast. Many things within walking distance and we did manage to go to the Farmers Market in Lincoln Park. Loved it! So yes we are looking for something close to our son and his fiance. Link to comment
AaronJB Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 If you are looking at being near Lincoln Park, I would suggest looking at the Gold Coast area on Hot.wire, as that limits you to the Gold Coast and the very top end of the NMA area. With Price.line's River North-NMA area, you could wind up anywhere within a fairly large zone, including by the river at the opposite end of the zone. The other suggestion I would have - and this is if you would want to focus on Lincoln Park (and it is a great area with a lot to do) would be to bid for a 4* in the Lincoln Park area - the Hotel Lincoln is the only "known" 4* in this area. You could also look on Hot.wire to see if a 4* is showing in this zone. Please let us know if you have any questions before booking. We will be staying at the Drake. Price was right at 68.00. I just hope I don't get a tiny room. Thanks and I like the new page with HOTWIRE and PRICELINE combined. I'd say write or call and ask if there would be any way you could get a room looking North on a high floor. Better chance of some kind of view vs the front of the building, which will just look at the buildings across the street.
