Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip South) Aria Hotel and Casino

I hope I'm posting this in the right section... I believe I saw somewhere to post here first and it would get moved if need be to Hotwire thread(been reading some many forum posts I think I've confused myself).

Thought I would ask for y'alls help... Going to Vegas for the very first time, in my early 30's and looking for the best value out there, like everyone else.  Your site has been a blessing so far and I haven't even booked a room.  I can't imagine the effort y'all have put into this but I appreciate it very much.

The dates I will be going are 3/14-3/16... I want to stay on the strip but do not have a preference of North or South. Would be awesome to get a 5 star at $150/nt but it's becoming clear that may not be possible?!?  If a 5 star is not possible, what are the 4 star's I should be targeting???

Thanks for your help... and as per the site's request I will use the Hot.wire/PRICELINE link from here!!!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

$150 is unlikely for a 5* in the North Strip zone, but the Trump (in the separate Strip North Vicinity zone on Price.line) is doable for under $150 (it's showing for $149 on Price.line.) A 5* in the Strip South area is unlikely, but if possible would likely take at or slightly higher than your max.

It is not possible to target a particular property when bidding - if you bid for a particular star rating and zone, you have to be willing to stay at ANY of the hotels at that star rating in that zone. In terms of Hot.wire and Price.line Express, both only show one property per star rating per zone (occasionally two on Hot.wire.)

Would a hotel w/o casino be acceptable? Would you rather push towards the high end of your budget or go for a less expensive 4*? A 4* could likely be had for just under $100.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Is there a big enough difference to pay $175-190 for a 5 star over $125ish for a 4 star if you have never been? I would gladly pay the extra if it's worth it... I'm aware that you can't specify a property but also know (thanks to your site) that you can usually narrow it down to a couple of high probabilities of what you'll get.

There are these two 5 stars listed in the south area, that would be great if you could help me determine if they're the same or different properties...

Thanks for the quick response and all of your help.  Just hoping to maximize my first trek....

Glad to hear the site has to been helpful so far.

One more question about your trip so that we can offer the best advice tailored towards your needs...

Are you traveling solo or with somebody else? If the latter, is it a friend, spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc? (this will play a factor as far as whether the higher rated hotel is worth the extra money)

In that case i wouldn't spend the extra money for a 5* hotel... the 5* hotels in Veags are very nice, and nowhwere else in the country and you consistently get a hotel of that quality for under $200/nite... but if staying in the room solo i think the 4* hotels are still quite nice and i would choose to save the ~$50/nite (assuming you can get one of the nice 4 star properties... but of course you may think otherwise and want to spend the extra money, ultimately it's your choice).

HOTWIRE has what appears to be:

THEhotel at Mandalay Bay for $152/nite

Luxor for $107/nite

==> the problem with these last two is that they are far from Paris, and even just one roundtrip taxi ride each day of trip could easily make it worthwhile staying at te 5* property given the added convenience... i don't like the location of either and wouldn't recommend them for a first time visitor.

PRICELINE EXPRESS has what looks to be the Arai (Outdoor Pool, Free Internet in room, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center) for $184/nite, but using the discount link and code in my signature gives an extra 5% bringing this room rate down to $175/nite. This would be a good location for a first time visitor, not too bad of a walk to the Paris (the Aira is set a bit back from the strip so it's a little bit of a walk each time you want to get on the strip, but once there it's not too far north to the Paris), and would also give you a good 5* experience.

You won't get the 'over the top Vegas 5* experience' but you could also consdier Bally's for $144/nite which is actually connected to Paris if you do want the convenience of being closer to your friends.

Thanks for the heads up on the Luxor and theMandalay Bay.  Amazing how close it appears on "google maps" and how far they are in real life.  Vdara has no casino correct?

Prices appear to be about as good as they're going to get for that weekend and may go up if anything...  Probably will decide/bid on something later in the week and will post what I came up with.

Thanks for everyone's help!!

The amenities above match both Treasure Island and the Mirage, so either of this would be likely, but TI is seen much more frequently so at least from a probability standpoint that would be the more likely of the two, but you should at least be prepared for either.

For $20 more per nite i would sooner go for the 5* PRICELINE EXPRESS property previously discussed and believed to be the Aria, i think that would be a better value/choice than this 4 star. (nothing wrong with TI per se, but for $20/nite, i'd sooner take the Aira for your first trip to Vegas as it's newer and more centrally located)

Well dang... that Express offer for $167/nt at what we thought was the Aria is now gone.  That is ok, I'll find something worthwhile... You and Yellowdog are awesome with replying, thank y'all so much.

P.S.  Sorry for starting new thread elsewhere, wasn't sure what protocol was if it was pertaining to a specific offer.
