swk2006
Hey,I was actually surprised to see this town listed on the price line bidding site since i imagine it's quite small. Is there a hotel list? I'm hoping to stay here for June 21-22, 2014. Thanks. Link to comment

thereuare
There could be others, but the Carriage Ridge Resort at Horseshoe Valley and the Horseshoe Resort would each be possibilities in this zone at the 3* level, what would be your maximum bid for if bidding for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. I'm trying to book at the carriage ridge resort for that weekend, but it's a minimum 2 night stay if I book it through them, so trying to avoid that. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
The Horseshoe Resort is offered for your dates for $142/nite and is refundable up until a few days before your stay (always double check terms during the checkout process). You may want to book this as a back-up just in case this property too goes to a 2 nite minimum, as at that point your 3* options for just one nite will appear to have dried up completely for the most part. With time on your side, and not much bidding history, i would start low and try to gradually increase from there. When bidding 3* in this region you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3* Oro Medonte...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* Oro Medonte and re-bid zone2...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* Oro Medonte and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $85If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try, once again using the PRICELINE link from the board (and NOT the links in any emails that PRICELINE may send informing you that you're eligible to bid again)...Select 3* Oro Medonte...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* Oro Medonte and re-bid zone2...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* Oro Medonte and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115Let's start with the above and then take it from there.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. swk2006
thanks for the info. i'm actually not sure how to re-bid given that i don't have a hotel list for the other zones (gravenhurst, collingwood, etc) and barrie i can see that they also have a few 3 star options. any ideas? thereuare
You don't need, nor should you use, a hotel list to determine your re-bid zones. If you've already read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and are still confused, try the following:1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter 'Oro Medonte, Ontario' and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from thereIf you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. swk2006
Just an update. I bid in $5 increments starting from 60 to 110 and didn't get anything. I actually was able to make some other arrangements. But thanks for clarifying the re-bidding strategy. Link to comment
