zdave
Howdy,Reporting a new hotel for this zone. Tried for downtown 3* at $60, no counter offers, added Northglenn zone and raised bid to $70, no counter offers, added 2.5* and raised bid to $77 and won. Not exactly what I was after but it will get the job done, and I read the no-whining rule. Started my bid with your PRICELINE link. Available for those same dates on Orbitz for $80 fully refundable. I've been using the process for a while but never reported any of my awesome wins. I'll try again in the future. -Dave Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While not your ideal property, hope you're pleased with the deal and can make this work for your needs this trip.We hope that you continue to share your future wins with the board so that others can benefit from the information. For future bidding note that you can use a better strategy then you did above, as you added 'live zones' (those that had a hotel with the star rating you were bidding) and/or lowered your star rating, while also raising your bid. This is not recommended as explained in this If You Lower Your Star Rating then Lower Your Priceline Bid Price thread. Feel free to ask questions, or for help, before your next opaque hotel purchase.Thank you for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding and sharing your win, helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.Enjoy your stay. zdave
Makes sense. I thought I was safe since Northglenn didn't have a 2.5* hotel until now! But, we'll make it work. Link to comment
thereuare
It sounds like you may be using the Hotel Lists to determine your re-bid zones which (as per the comments at the top of the hotel list) you shouldn't be using. The correct, and only, method that should be used is outlined here: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedLet us know if you have any questions regarding the information at the link above.
