Dr. Drake Remoray
I have used the provided PRICELINE links for bidding.Edit** I have my dates wrong in the subject. It should be 1/30 to 2/2.I have bidded up to the following amounts:$105 for a 4*85 for 3.5 * 70 for 3*Still have a few days to go and have not hit the magic number yet.I have a cancellable 3* downtown reservation at the Royal St. Charles for $147 per night, but I am hoping to save a few bucks over that rate.Any ideas beyond creeping up my bids?I see that there is a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 3* Downtown for $119 per night. Should I expect to do better than that with bidding? Thanks!Drake Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)You will likely be able to do slightly-to-moderately better via bidding, although it becomes a matter of being willing to stay at any hotel within the chosen specifics (zone/star rating.) With PRICELINE EXPRESS, you can often narrow down the possibilities at least somewhat. At the 4* level you're likely looking at more along the $135-145 +/- area. 3.5* is likely going to require along the $115-125 +/- area.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
The amenities above are quite common for a 3* hotel in New Orleans (and for a 3* hotel in almost any city)... the Holiday Inn New Orleans Downtown would be a guess, but given how there is no unique amenity, i wouldn't be surprised if it were something else entirely. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. tigersbh
It could be the Wyndham on Royal also, which was previously a Holiday Inn.Also, the Royal St. Charles charges a $9.95 resort fee. I don't know if that's a 1-time charge or if it's every day because I have only stayed there for one day at a time. Link to comment
Dr. Drake Remoray
Thanks for the info on the three star hotels. Thanks also for the Royal St. Charles Hotel. The reservations says we will owe "$29.85 Additional fees charged by the hotel" for three rooms total.Bid again tonight at the following with no success.Downtown and FQ115 4*105 3.595 3*Will try again tomorrow. Dr. Drake Remoray
After trying to win on PRICELINE, I ended up using HOTWIRE (and the links here).Booked the Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark on HOTWIRE (using the link) for $107 per night. After taxes and fees it comes out to $129 per night. I will report it over on the hotwire forum page. Link to comment
