Alex in MI
1) I started with a lowball bid of $50 for 3½*. As expected, it was rejected.2) The next day, I put in a bid of $60 for 4*, which I knew was the Hyatt because the BB guide told me it was the only 4* in that area (on Priceline; it's 3½* on Hotwire).3) The bid was rejected. Priceline countered with $76, which I knew was too high.4) I added the Algonquin area, which I knew was OK because the BB guide said it had only one place, for 2½*. I countered with $68, which was accepted.I've stayed at the Hyatt Lisle before; it's a nice place. I used the BB PRICELINE link, of course. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're pleased with the hotel and deal you received and are looking forward to your trip.NOTE, as per the message at the top of the Priceline Hotel List you shouldn't use the hotel lists to determine your re-bid zones, the only method that should be used it detailed here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. If you use the hotel lists to determine your re-bid zones you will eventually get burned and end up in a zone that you didn't intend. If you have any questions regarding re-bidding feel free to ask for help.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
