Update:

The full size car turned out to be a choice of a Hyundai Sonata or a Dodge journey crossover. I took the Dodge journey. they said they were out of Dodge chargers which is what the website showed.

customer service was not too happy that I got a great rate via price line and they tryed to fool me into choosing either full or basic insurance. I told them my credit card already has insurance and they seemed pissed off.

do they treat price line customers like this most of the time?

oh well, at least I got a good price. they didn't inspect the car when I left, they said I should inspect it myself? well I took pictures of the car so I will let you know what happens when my week is up.

Rental companies make a lot of money from the insurance they offer, so upsells are always offered regardless of how you book, but just how much pressure you experience is dependent upon the clerk handling your rental and how many more people are inline behind you (ie- if the representative has time to push the issue or not)

Just to close this thread, I returned the car with no issues today and the service was much better!

I will use PRICELINE car rentals next time I'm in TO. Its a great service!
