I started bidding for a 4* in Nola French Quarter, 4 nights 5th April - 9th April.

Started at 49$, added a zone 51$.

Next day 53$,added a zone 55$

Tonight I will try again going up in 2$.

I may try adding more zones after checking out which don't have 4*.

Just checked and there are loads of rebid zones I can add

Went up to 61$ no luck. Will try again tomorrow.

I haven't decided on top figure yet but the hotel we like to stay at ( Le Marais ) is over 1000$ for the 4 nights

so hopefully I will get something a good bit less than that.

Have you checked retail rates for your dates at all as at the moment i don't believe you are in the right ballpark. (use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com as you can filter to see only 4* rated hotels and then look at rates on the map within the geographic area of the French Quarter zone)

Up to 101$ . I realise this is much less than the going rates but a person has to try for a bargain!

When bidding substantially below a reasonably accepted bid amount i wouldn't bother with $2-$3 increments... i think you run more of a risk of a bidding error than landing a great deal.
